1. Acceptance of Terms
The use of https://ascentlegal.io/ (along with all subdomains, collectively, the “Ascent Legal Website”), owned and operated by Ascent Legal A.P.L.C (“Ascent Legal,” “we,” “our,” or “us”), is governed by these Terms of Use (“Terms”). By accessing or using the Ascent Legal Website and Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must immediately discontinue use.
These Terms include a binding arbitration provision and waiver of jury trial and class action (see Section 10).
We may modify these Terms from time to time. Changes are effective when posted with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the Ascent Legal Website after changes constitutes acceptance.
2. No Legal Advice or Attorney–Client Relationship
The Ascent Legal Website provides general information only. It does not constitute legal advice, recommendations, or counseling. Your use of the Website does not create an attorney–client relationship with Ascent Legal or its attorneys.
Attorney–client relationships are established only through execution of a formal engagement agreement and conflict check. Do not send confidential or privileged information until such engagement is confirmed.
3. Professional Responsibility & Advertising
- No Solicitation: The Website is not intended as solicitation or advertisement, but may be considered advertising in some jurisdictions.
- Jurisdictional Limitations: Attorneys at Ascent Legal are admitted only in jurisdictions listed in their individual biographies.
- No Guarantee of Results: Case descriptions and testimonials are for illustrative purposes only and do not guarantee future outcomes.
4. Privacy & Data Protection
Our collection and use of data are governed by our Privacy Policy, which complies with applicable laws including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (where applicable), and other state privacy laws.

9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- Ascent Legal will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages.
- Aggregate liability for all claims will not exceed $500.
- Any claim must be filed within one (1) year of accrual, or it is permanently barred.
10. Dispute Resolution – Arbitration & Waiver of Class Action
Any disputes arising out of these Terms or the Website will be resolved by binding arbitration administered by JAMS under its Streamlined Rules. Arbitration will take place in Los Angeles, California.
- Waiver of Jury Trial: You waive any right to a jury trial.
- Class Action Waiver: Disputes must be brought individually; no class, representative, or consolidated actions are permitted.
- Carve-Outs: You may bring claims in small claims court or file regulatory complaints where legally permitted.
11. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Venue for disputes will be in Los Angeles County, California, unless otherwise required by arbitration.
